SAMBA, Mar 4: The people of Ramgarh today staged a strong protest demonstration against the Government decision of shifting of new Degree College to some other place in Samba district.
A large number of locals assembled at Ramgarh and raised slogan against the Government. They said that the Government had sanctioned a degree college in Ramgarh but two days ago the Principal Secretary of the Higher Education along with DC Samba laid the foundation stone at village Rara instead of Ramgarh.
They lamented that the foundation stone of the Degree College Ramgarh was laid for two times by the successive Government but the officer of the higher authorities laid the foundation stone of Degree College at somewhere else. They asked the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to make the college in Ramgarh so the students get proper benefits of the said college.
The president of the Municipal Committee Ramgarh Parmjit Singh Pamma appealed to the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Satya Pal Malik to make Degree College in Ramgarh functional so that students of Ramgarh may get higher education. He also warned that if the Government does not review its decision, the people of Ramgarh will come on road and start protests over the issue.
