ECI urged not to show urgency in conducting elections in J&K

JAMMU, Mar 4: Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackrey has appealed the team of Election Commission of India (ECI) not to show any urgency to conduct elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
While addressing the media persons jointly here today, Party State president Dimpy Kohli and general secretary Manish Sahni said that the situation of Jammu and Kashmir is not in favor of elections at all. Sahni said that there is war like situation on LoC, administration has ordered closure of schools within 5 km of LoC and the situation in Kashmir is not hidden from anyone but the team of Election Commission is on the tour of J&K to review the situation for Parliament and Assembly elections.
Sahni further said that most of the political parties of Jammu and Kashmir are also pressing for early elections to take advantage of the current disturb situation. He said that Shiv Sena on the behalf of people of J&K appeals the Election Commi-ssion of India to wait for the situation to become normal.
On this occasion, party vice president Harsh Kumar Gupta, Romesh Koul, Surjeet Singh Chib, Raj Singh, Vikas Bakshi, Raju Chowdary, Akshit Talwar, Sunny Jamwal, Rohit Anand, Rajinder Singh, Vikram Sharma, Raju Salaria, Pawan Singh and many others were present.
