In a major blow to Pakistan’s Lashkar-e-Islam, Haji Akbar Afridi, the commander of the notorious outfit was reportedly shot dead by unknown armed assailants in Bara, Khyber district.

The latest killing is the most recent in a spate of incidents reported in Pakistan where terrorists are being targeted by gunmen.
The infamous Lashkar-e-Islam has been involved in militant activities and is known for its extremist ideology.
It has a history of issuing threats to various communities by instigating fear and has also in the past threatened Kashmiri Pandits to leave Kashmir or else face dire consequences. (Agencies)
