People suffer as ruling alliance plunders: Bhardwaj

BISHNAH, Apr 8: Senior Congress leader and member AICC Mohinder Bhardwaj has said that the country and J&K state in particular,  is sitting on a power-keg of communal hatred spread by the BJP and its allies ever since the saffron party has come to power at the Centre.
The divisive tendencies spread by BJP and its allies such as PDP has provided tonic to divisive and anti-national forces to challenge the unity and integrity of the country which was once witnessed during the British rule.
Addressing an impressive public meeting here on Sunday, Bhardwaj said that BJP’s divisive agenda is also threatening the very core of the Indian society and its serious impact is also being felt in the sensitive border state of Jammu and Kashmir. “Pakistan is taking benefit of this atmosphere of distrust created by the current dispensations to create problem in our border state. What is happening on International Border and LoC and the serious turn which the situation has taken in Kashmir is self-explanatory of where we stand at this moment,” he observed.
Drawing parallels between the current BJP regimes and earlier Congress Governments,  Bhardwaj said the latter had always kept nation’s interest above everything else and had achieved this goal through ensuring strong bonds among different sections of the society.  Lambasting the BJP-led Govt for its failure on all fronts, he said that the saffron party leaders and ministers in the State were following the model of their Central outfit to find excuses to divert public attention from misgovernance, rampant corruption resulting in total lack of development.
“Bishnah  constituency is the best case example of this utter neglect with poor road and irrigation networks, water and power supply, failing PDS system and all social welfare schemes such as old age and widow pension,” he added.
PCC general secretary Dr Manhor Lal Sharma urged for defeating the politics of divide ensuring equitable development of all the three regions of the State. He said that the people and Congress workers are under great stress due to discriminatory attitude of the government functionaries.
Former Dy Chairman J&K Legislative Council and Chairman State Minority Department Janghir Mir in his address pleaded for the need to work for the unity integrity and sovereignty of the nation.  He urged upon the misguided youth to shun violence and join the national main stream.
Senior leaders Ch Gharu Ram, Ashok Dubey, Ashok Sharma, Master Tassaduq Hussain and Hari Om Singh also addressed the gathering.
