Magh Puranmashi celebrated with religious fervor, gaiety

JAMMU, Feb 10: In connection with celebration of Magh Mass  Purnima which is known as “Kaw Punim” by Kashmiri Pandits a grand and impressive function was held at in the Ashram of Swami Kumar Ji at Muthi today in which a large number of devotees including saints, seers, socio political workers and religious workers participated.
During the whole month religious functions were organized by the devotees of Swami Kumar Ji in which the scholars gave religious discourses on the significance of Magh month.
On the Purnima today a colorful function was held including a hawan for world peace and prosperity. The hawan started yesterday evening and Puranahuti was performed this afternoon. To maintain the tradition the crows were served prashad in the early morning.
Swami Kumar Ji while giving religious discourses threw light on the significance of the day.
This is the 18th Magh Mass celebrated in the Ashram. Vijay Bakaya ex MLC, Mula Ram ex Minister, M K Yogi president NC Minority Cell, Prof A N Sadhu a well known scholar, Ashwani Chrungoo, president PK. H L Jad, T N Kaul Camp president were among others who attended the programme.
Meanwhile the month long spiritual activity in connection with month of Magh was also held in Bhagawaan Gopinathji Ashram Udaiwala Bohri. The activity commenced from January 13 and culminated on February 10 i.e on Kaw Puranmashi.
The religious activity during the month was held from 5 am to 7-30 am daily and hundreds of devotees were attending it despite cold and inclement weather to receive the ever flowing grace of Bhagawaan Ji.
Prior to migration Kashmiri Pandits used to circumambulate Hari Parbhat hillock-the abode of Mata Chakreshwari during the month of Magh Massa and now they throng the Bhagawaan Gopinathji Ashram with the same reverence and pay the obeisance at the feet of Master.
During the month one and half crore Vedic Mantras were recited for the welfare of mankind and homa was conducted daily to uphold the cultural heritage. Such programmes were held at Bhagawaan Gopinathji Ashrams /Sat Mandals across the country on regular basis to inculcate the spiritual and moral values among the people.
