Govt deliberately creating hurdles in functioning of pvt schools: PSA

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Apr 18: Private Schools Association has alleged that the Government was deliberately creating hurdles in smooth running of private schools and thus discouraging the initiative of self supporting institutions which are working tirelessly for the welfare of general public at minimum cost.
“Till date Government has never bothered to stream line the educational system and every Government authority has always come up with hypothetical, unrealistic and unreasonable suggestions and approaches,”said Kamal Gupta, president of the Association while addressing a press conference, here today.
He resented the action by District Magistrate Kathua for imposing Section 144 CrPC around all Private schools without any rational thinking as his order created confusion, chaos, ill will and hatred for entire private educational hierarchy. “Every education and district authority of Jammu Division issued orders one by one and different and opposite notifications to dent the working and image of Private schools in the society,” Kamal Gupta added and demanded immediate withdrawal of such practice from such indulgents as it has already brought bad name to the noble profession of education.
Members of the Association also appealed to the parents that in case of any grievance the parent should approach first to the concerned school authority and in case grievance is not mitigated the appeal should be done made to J&K PSA authorities @ 9419194779, 9419158492 or 9419183224.
The Association sought immediate intervention of the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for withdrawal of order issued by District Magistrate Kathua in which section 144 CrPC has been imposed around Private schools, grant of complete autonomy to the school managements and installing of single window clearance system, time bound clearance of all files which are gathering dust at the district and State headquarters, clear cut policies and frame work of rules by virtue of which all small & big educational institutions could work and flourish smoothly, etc.
Those who spoke on the occasion, included Rameshwar Mengi, Ajay Gupta, Sanjeev Luthra and others.
