JAMMU, Apr 18: VHP State president advocate Leela Karan Sharma today warned the Government of unnecessarily harassing the people of Rassana village.
In a statement issued here he said VHP also wants a thorough probe into the murder of the minor girl and severe punishment to culprits but at the same time it will not allow the harassment to the innocent people.
He said VHP is fully with Rassana people who feel scared as they were tortured and harassed by police. It is totally unfortunate that the State Government has made it unnecessarily a prestige issue by not ordering the CBI inquiry into the matter to the satisfaction of the people.
Leela Karan also took serious exception of making the reference of the case by CM during the convocation at Mata Vaishno Devi University and said that without establishing by the court of law no one can be declared a criminal. He said if Crime Branch failed to prove the charges made by it in the charge sheet in court of law tomorrow then who will be responsible for the damage caused to the reputation of the people who were arrested and put behind bars.
The VHP leader said that the best way for the Government was to order a CBI probe and whosoever will be found guilty should be punished under the law.
