JAMMU, Nov 1: Income Tax Department today carried out survey in the readymade garments store in Rajouri town and laid hands on several documents establishing evasion of tax.
Sources said that on the basis of information gathered from credible sources, the sleuths of Income Tax Department surveyed readymade garments store of Vikas Mahajan in Rajouri town and detected concealment of income.
“A number of documents, which prima-facie established unaccounted sale and purchase were impounded for detailed scrutiny”, they said, adding “the businessman was investing the money generated through unaccounted sale and purchase in the real estate business”.
This is for the first time that any survey has been conducted by the Income Tax sleuths in Rajouri town. “The survey has clearly established that Income Tax Department has started focusing on district headquarters”, sources said.
