DCs asked to resolve all issues of migrants in Valley

SRINAGAR, Nov 1: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today directed all Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to resolve issues of migrants residing across the Valley on priority basis.
He directed all Deputy Commissioners, concerned officers and engineers to resolve all migrant issues on priority basis so that they will not face any kind of problems during Winter months.
He also asked them to send a status report regarding the redressed issues to the Divisional Commissioner’s Office on fortnightly basis.
Representatives of All Parties’ Migrant Co-ordination Committee (APMCC) led by its Chairman Vinod Pandit raised certain demands with the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir. He assured them that their genuine demands will be resolved at earliest.
In a statement issued by King C Bharati, national spokesperson, APMCC, the high level meeting discussed various issues pertaining to the welfare of PM package employees working in Valley. The issues that were discussed in high level meeting include independent concrete accommodation for all PM Package Employees, medical facilities with doctors earmarked on a fixed day along with paramedical staff and avallability of medicines in all dispensaries of transit camps, ration facilities for all employees living in transit camps and on rent, employees posted in far flung areas to be transferred within a specified radius, DPC of all departments to be conducted after getting clarification from administrative heads, reimbursement of HRA will be made shortly, street lights for Hawal colony, Pulwama and generator facility for illumination of Nutnussa, Kupwara and work to be started on schools of Vessu and Baramulla at an earliest.
Besides, these several issues were discussed threadbare by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir regarding the issues of PM Package Employees raised by Vinod Pandit (chairman APMCC) through video conference with DCs of Anantnag Kulgam, Pulwama, Baramulla, Kupwara, Ganderbal and concerned Sectoral offices.
The high level meeting was attended by Director General, Social Welfare, Kashmir, Director School Education, Kashmir, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Director Food and Supplies, Kashmir, Superintending Engineer PDD (EM&RE) / PHE/ R&B, Kashmir, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Migrants (Jammu)
The meeting was also attended by representatives of various districts including Ranjan Jotshi, Sunny Raina, Avtar Krishan Bhat, Sunil Tickoo, Rakesh Pandita, Pawan Jee Bhat and Ankur Pandita.
