JAMMU, Apr 20: A young girl today hanged self to death at her residence in village Chibba in Nagrota area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, Nishat Bibi (19) daughter of Murad Ali, was found hanging with the hook of the ceiling fan at her residence. He said that the girl allegedly committed suicide when other members of the family were out of the house.
He said that when other family members returned back home they found the room of the Nishat Bibi locked from inside. When they broke opened the room, the girl was hanging with the hook of the ceiling fan.
The spokesman said that on getting information, police reached the spot and shifted the body of the deceased to Primary Health Centre, Dansal, where after conducting post mortem it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites. He said that the girl was going to be married on April 24.
“A case in this connection was registered at police station Nagrota and investigations started”, he added.
