Rotary Club organizes free eye surgical camp

UDHAMPUR, Apr 20: To commemorate the 149th birth anniversary of Paul Percy Harris (the founder of Rotary International), Rotary Club of Udhampur organized a free eye surgical camp for blind people here in Rotary Eye and ENT Hospital.
In the camp, 21 patients mostly blind as per their visual acuity were operated free of cost. All patients were from different villages of district Udhampur and belonged to the deprived section of the society.
The surgical cost of all these patients was donated by Abhinav Sanson son of Rajendra Sanson of Sanson Automobiles, Domail (Udhampur). All these patients regained their vision after cataract surgery.
On the occasion, DN Sharma assured his full support to the organization in future for prevention of blindness so that poor people of the area may not loose their vision for lack of eye care facility.
Other prominent members of Rotary Club who attended the function were Surjit Singh, Manjeet Singh, Jasbir Singh, Dr Ankur Goel, Sumeru Raina. Besides, staff of Rotary Eye Hospital was also present.
