Woman killed, two injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Mar 24: A person was killed while two others were injured today in separate road mishaps in outskirts of this winter capital of the State.
“In a hit and run case, a pedestrian namely Neelam (27) wife of Sukhdev Singh, resident of Mishriwala, was killed on the spot after she was hit by a rashly driven tipper at Patoli on Jammu Akhnoor Road”, a police spokesman said. He said that after completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.
A pedestrian identified as Jaspal Singh (50) son of Karan Singh, resident of Preet Nagar (Jammu) was hit and injured by an unknown vehicle near Police Line, Gandhi Nagar. A woman identified as Harjeet Kour (50) wife of Ujjain Singh, resident of Phinder (Bishnah), also sustained injuries when she fell down from a moving scooter at Phinder. Both the injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
In all three cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance.
