JAMMU, Mar 24: A seminar on export awareness under Niryat Bandhu series was held in the office of Chamber of Commerce and Industries, here today.
The seminar was organized by the Joint Director General of Foreign Trade which was attended by industrialists, traders, exporters and faculty and students of ICCCR and HRM Department, University of Jammu.
The programme was organized under the chairmanship of Sudhir Kumar, Foreign Trade Development Officer, while Rakesh Gupta, President CCI, Rajesh Gupta, Senior Vice President, Rajiv Gupta, Junior Vice President, Ashu Gupta, Treasurer and Vijay Kumar Jain, President, Walnut Exporters Association were also present.
The programme started with the inaugural address by Sudhir Kumar, Foreign Trade Development Officer in which he apprised the audience with the role of DGFT in international trade.
A presentation on export procedure and incentives being extended by DGFT was given by Aruna Narula, Member Business Excellence Support Team with special reference to the concessions allowed to the exporters from J&K State.
The participants were briefed with schemes like Merchandise Export from India Scheme (MEIS), Service Export from India Scheme (SFIS), Advance Authorisation Scheme, Export Promotion Capital Goods Scheme (EPCG), etc.
Vijay Kumar Jain encouraged the audience to enter the business without any apprehension as the policies and facilities available were very much exporter friendly.
Speaking on the occasion, the guest speaker Suneel Jain, Director Hansraj Exports emphasized the need to upgrade the technology of making products since the industry in J&K at present is struggling in the international market in view of the fast changing technologies coming up worldwide.
Avilok Singh, young entrepreneur and Director, Amar Singh & Sons and Rakesh Gupta also expressed their views.
In the end, the vote of thanks was extended by Rajesh Gupta, Senior Vice President, CCI.
Rakesh Bhat, Annil Suri, Abhijeet Singh, Dr Ridhi Sharma, Dr Dalip Raina, Dr Shivani Rana and Dr Vishal Sharma were the prominent participants amongst others.
