Wani, Tarigami call on Governor

SRINAGAR, June 15: Abdul Majid Wani, MLA Doda, called on N. N. Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan here today and presented to him a memorandum on the various problems and development gaps of Doda district.
Discussing the overall backwardness of the district, Wani pressed for the development of tourism circuits from Sudhmahadev to Bhadarwah and Kapran to Dessa and beyond upto Bharat, Keshwan and Kishtwar under the Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Plan. He also called for the maximum allocation of resources under the State Plan and the various Centrally Sponsored Schemes for achieving rapid socio-economic advancement of the entire area. He said that there is tremendous potential for the promotion of pilgrim tourism in the district which is required to be optimally harnessed by creating the required infrastructure.
The Governor assured Mr. Wani that the concerned authorities would be addressed in regard to all the problems and development issues raised by him.
M. Y. Tarigami, CPI (M) State Secretary and MLA also called on Mr. Vohra.
Mr. Tarigami discussed with the Governor issues relating to the establishment of Panchayati Raj institutions in the State, functioning of the administrative machinery and eradication of corruption.
