JAMMU, June 15: Bar Association Jammu (BAJ) today organized a function in the High Court lawns to welcome Chief Justice M M Kumar on his maiden visit to Jammu wing of the High Court.
Welcoming the Chief Justice, Vikram Sharma, General Secretary of Bar Association Jammu, expressed the sentiments of the Bar members and apprised the Chief Justice about the highest degrees of hope the Bar has from him as head of Judicial Institution.
B S Slathia, President Bar Association apprised the Chief Justice of the healthy traditions of the Bar in extending its full corporation in the administration of justice. He lauded the role of judiciary, which has succeeded in eradicating corruption and expediting the justice delivery with the support of the lawyers.
He expressed the hope that the vacancies of Judges in the High Court would be filled shortly to check the pendency of cases.
The Chief Justice, in his address, expressed that he was overwhelmed by the welcome he has been accorded by the Bar Association. He stressed that a better justice dispensation pre-requires a concerted efforts by both the Bench and the Bar and the ultimate aim of justice to one and all can be achieved with such concerted efforts.
Earlier, the welcome function began with an impressive bouquet-presentation-ceremony.
Justice Virender Singh, Justice J P Singh, Justice Yaqoob Mir, Bansi Lal Bhat, Presiding Officer, CBI Court Jammu and Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Jammu, M U Salaria (Vice-President), Vikram Sharma (General Secretary), Parimoksh Seth (Joint Secretary), Sandeepa Sambyal (Treasurer), Rohan Nanda (President YLA), Amit Gupta (Vice President YLA), Designated Senior Advocates and the members of Bar were present on the occasion.
