Vocationalisation of education

Sir,
A lot has been done in the education sector so far but still more reforms need to be taken in hand for its further growth and development. Education has reached to far flung areas of the country and literacy rate has gone up. New schemes like Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan mid-day meal scheme etc have been introduced in the education sector of the country. Right to education has been granted by the 86th Constitutional amendment carried out in 2002. The amendment stipulates that the Govt shall provide free and compulsory education to all children from the age of 6 to 14 years. So  far, so good, the steps taken by the Govt. in advancing education. But the need of the hour is to make education system job oriented and as such our present system should undergo for some reformative changes in its structure. We know we have an unemployment problem in the State of J&K and the same problem is increasing day by day. To solve  the problem, it is very important to vocationalise our present system of education. The system should introduce trades like poultry farming fish farming, carpentary, tailoring, electric mechanism, bee keeping and modelling etc. at the stage of high and higher secondary level in the School Department of the State. Computerisation,  stenography and photography can also streamline the growth of the education sector at this stage. Drawing and sculptor formation both in wood and store skills are trades worth to be introduced in the school department. Beyond science and humanities subjects like journalism, floriculture and painting are the essentials that can be introduced for the welfare of the student community.
Everyone cannot be  absorbed in Govt sector and for that matter we have to go for vocationalisation of education at the secondary level. This will help us in absorbing our youth in various trades and as such have not to depend on Govt. jobs only. They will be self relient in their career and can earn livelihood comfortably and independently provided above trades are made compulsory in the school department for the sake of the student community.
Yours etc….
