JAMMU, Mar 23: The State Government has constituted a Tribunal, which shall recommend compensation to the Baridars of Shri Mata Sukrala Devi Ji shrine and Shri Mata Bala Sundri shrine.
The Tribunal, constituted under Shri Mata Sukrala Devi Ji Shrine and Shri Mata Bala Sundri Shrine Act, 2013, shall recommend compensation to be paid by the Shrine Board to the priests and other right holders in lieu of extinction of their rights. The Tribunal may consider offering employment to any right holder in case such right holder surrenders his right to compensation.
Jeet Lal Gupta, presently, Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir State Commission for Backward Classes, has been appointed as Chairman of the Tribunal. The Government has also appointed Hukam Chand Basotra, Advocate and social worker, as Member of the Tribunal.
An order to this effect was issued today by the Secretary to Government, Tourism Department, Farooq Ahmed Shah.
