JAMMU, Nov 24: A 17-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide after he was asked to bring his parents to school for his ‘irresponsible’ behavior.
According to a police spokesperson, Aman Sharma, a class XI student of a private school and son of late Vijay Sharma, a resident of Lane No 16, Rajpura, Jammu, committed suicide at his residence last evening. “However, the incident came to light late night”, he added.
The spokesperson said that the boy allegedly took the extreme step after the Principal of his school asked him to bring his parents to school, he said, adding Aman had proposed a girl student of the same school, who then approached the principal and lodged a complaint against him.
“The principal called Aman to his office chamber and asked him to bring his parents to school the next day”, he said adding after going home, Aman locked himself in the storeroom and hanged himself from a ceiling fan. As nobody was in the house at the time of incident the matter remained hidden and came to light only when family members came to house in the evening and searched for Aman.
Today, after completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. A case in this connection has been registered and proceedings started under 174 CrPC.
