The daily wage, need based, ITI and CP workers of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu and its associated hospitals have been on strike since September 15 stressing the administration to fulfill their demands, which include release of their wages pending for 25-30 months and their regularization.
Addressing the protesting workers near Press Club Jammu, where they have to shift the protest venue due to police action, association president, Puneet Sharma, said that they were forced by the authorities to resort to protest, as they did not release their wages of about 25-30 months despite repeated requests.
He asserted that the strike will continue unless their demands are met and a written order issued in this connection.
