Senior citizens, intellectuals’ concern over creation of lecturers posts in Kashmiri

JAMMU, July 27: Senior citizens, intellectuals and social workers held a meeting today at Chandan Vihar, Muthi under the Chairmanship of Kuldeep Raj Verma, former Vice Chairman State Advisory Board for Development of OBC. The meeting, expressed concern over the creation of 49 posts of lecturers for Kashmiri language in the 46 colleges of Jammu province by converting posts of the other streams.
As per a release the meeting while questioning the Government’s move stated that as there is no provision of teachers to teach Kashmiri language in high schools and higher secondary schools in Jammu province then why the posts of lecturers have been created in Jammu colleges. The meeting also wanted to know that if the Government plans to introduce Kashmiri language in whole J&K State then has it any plan to introduce Dogri language also in the whole State.
The members present in the meeting asked the Government to reconsider this decision lest there will be utter chaos , unrest and create a feeling of alienation in the whole Jammu region. During the meeting, speakers also highlighted the social issues and other prevailing problems which require immediate attention of the concerned authorities. Those who spoke on the occasion were Puran Chagotra, Bua Ditta, Madan Kashap, Bralan Singh, Raj Kumar, Ram Dayal, Ram Lal and others.
