JAMMU, Aug 29: The Jammu and Kashmir Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj Employees Federation (RDD&PR) today held protest against the decision of High Power Committee constituted by the Government for creation of posts in newly created CD blocks here at Directorate of Rural Development, Talab Tillo.
The protest demonstration was held under the chairmanship of Anurudh Singh, convener of the Federation.
While speaking, Anurudh Singh said that today’s protest demonstration is warning to Government not to play with the sentiments of the employees of RDD and PR, he showed strong resentment against the High Power Committee constituted by Government in respect to the creation of posts in newly created CD blocks and demolishing certain departmental posts while issuing Government order No. 222 dt 23-07-2014, which is violation of Gazetted rules.
He said that Government failed to resolve their issues and now was appointing the employees of departments other than RDD and PR as BDO’s, which is strict violation of Gazetted rules.
Rakesh Sharma, general secretary of the Federation, said that the post of Inspector Panchayat has been demolished by High Power Committee. He said that this post is completely responsible for implementation of Panchayati Raj System in the State and works between Gram Panchayat and District Panchayat Officer. Besides this post, the committee has also demolished the posts of Senior Assistance, Head Clerk, JE, Work Supervisor which is mockery with employees of RDD and PR, he asserted.
The protesters while raising slogans against the Government policies and High Power Committee, said that they would not tolerate such policies of Government and unanimously decided to boycott the inaugural ceremony of newly created CD blocks by hoisting black flags. They further warned the Government for mass agitation, if it failed to resolve their issues and problems.
Among others who addressed the gathering included Jagdish Singh, Parshotam Singh, Ajeet Singh Jaffer, Sanjeet Singh, Romesh, Bashir Ahmed, Raja Firdos, etc.
