Rajput Sabha demands ban on movie ‘Padmavati’

JAMMU, Nov 13: Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha, J&K, today demanded ban on the release of Bollywood movie ‘Padmavati’.
Addressing a press conference, Narayan Singh, president of the Sabha alleged that the history of Maharani Padmawati has been distorted in Bollywood movie Padmavati, which is not based on facts and will no longer be tolerated by the Rajput community.
“Padmawati, the Maharani of Rajasthan was very pious and having good character. She is an idol for all of us. Any derogatory scenes in the picture shall be against character of Rajputs and dealt with iron hands”, the Rajput Sabha warned.
Sabha members warned the Government that the picture should be immediately banned and in case the voice of Rajputs is turn down, there will be no option except not allowing this picture run in the Cinema theatres in the State.
