Ghagwal police rescues 12 bovine animals

SAMBA, Nov 13: Ghagwal Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued 12 bovine animals during early this morning at Tapyal Naka.
According to reports a police party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SI Rajeshwar Singh, SHO Ghagwal under close supervision of Tanveer Ahmed, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba, during vehicle checking at Naka Tapyal  signaled a truck bearing registration number JK02BM-8377 which was coming from Kathua side to stop. On seeing police party, the driver tried to flee from the spot but as police party chased him he abandoned the vehicle near Jatwal and escaped from the spot. During checking of the vehicle, 12 bovine animals were found laden inside the vehicle, which were being transported illegally without any permission.
The vehicle and the bovine animals were seized and a case FIR No. 99/2017 U/S 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, 184/MV Act has been registered at P/S Ghagwal. Further investigation is going on to nab the driver.
The drive was launched by district Police Samba under the directions of Anil Magotra, SSP Samba.
