JAMMU, Apr 21: The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has ordered a series of promotions, transfers and postings in the AGMUT cadre of the Indian Forest Service (IFS), with key changes impacting the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
At the top level, Sandeep Kujur (1995 batch) and Chaturbhuj Behera (1996 batch) have been promoted to the rank of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and will continue to serve in J&K.

At the level of Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (APCCF), Kamal Preet (AGMUT:1997) has been transferred from Mizoram to J&K in the same capacity. Riddhi Jagadh Vasudev (AGMUT:2001) has also been posted as APCCF in J&K following her promotion.
Moving to the Conservator of Forests (CF) rank, Arashdeep Singh (AGMUT:2012) and Vanjulavalli Sridhar (AGMUT:2012) have been promoted and will continue their postings in J&K without any change in location.
At the Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) level, Sandeep Divyajyoti Behera has been shifted from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to J&K while Atharva Tiwari has been transferred from J&K to Delhi.
Separately, the Centre has abolished three temporarily created posts of APCCF in J&K with effect from December 18, 2025. The decision, issued on April 17, 2026, follows recommendations of the Joint Cadre Authority. The posts, created in December 2020 for a limited period, had been extended multiple times before their final discontinuation.
