KATHUA, May 11: Former minister and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has alleged that the people  are suffering for want of drinking water, ration  and inadequate electricity supply while the present BJP-PDP coalition has failed to provide essential services to the public.
Addressing public meeting at Gurha Kalyal in Billawar constituency today, Dr Manohar Lal said that general public is badly suffering due to anti-people policies of the Government. He said  the present dispensation has lost the moral responsibility to rule as it has totally failed to ensure essential supplies to the public.  He said for the last over three months, the public is not getting ration moreover, sugar has gone missing from the ration depots. There is massive hue and cry but there is nobody to listen to the public.
People are badly suffering due to severe crisis of drinking water. PHE workers are on strike for the last 60 days, but the Govt is least bothered. There is massive power curtailment in Jammu region during these hot summer days. The consumers are made to pay fatty bills but they are deprived  off  the regular and adequate supply of electricity.  Over 120 hand pumps and  50 transformers are out of order in Billawar area, the authorities could not restore them.
Mr Sharma said that BJP led Govt’s tall claims have fallen flat as it has failed to control price hike. The prices of sugar, edible oil, pulses, diesel etc have  increased. The BJP has failed to perform and deliver to the public.  He appealed the party workers to start awareness campaign and expose these parties.
