JAMMU, June 15: Kathak performance by daughter-of-the-soil, Sanchita Abrol enthralled the audience at the jam-packed Abhinav Theatre here today.
Sanchita is the first dancer to bring Dogri on the main stage through Kathak and today’s performance too opened with a ‘Dogri Pa’akh’, folk music and singing style that is unique to Dogri culture.
While highlighting and celebrating the cultural heritage of Jammu region, the performance illustratedthe life of a soldier missing home, yet willing to leave behind everything to serve the nation.
“The inner voice of the warrior is filled with emotions, but the strength embodied in the imagery of courage depicts the desire to protect the country and it is this ocean of emotions that I have enacted and expressed in my performance”, said Sanchita.
For Sanchita, Kathak dance is essentially a complete phenomenon, integrating the rhythmic resources of poetry, movement and music to enhance the aesthetics of the experience and this performance is an ode to the warriors of the valley, celebrating and enacting their bravery in carrying their duty to protect the country with unparallel courage and an unbounded spirit of patriotism.
