JAMMU, Jan 16: Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtryia Sanskrit Vidyapeeth (A Deemed University) conferred an honorary degree of D.Litt. (Vidya-Vachaspati) to Prof. (Dr) Vishwamurti Shastri at the 16th Convocation Ceremony of the SLBSRSV held at University’s Auditorium in Delhi, recently.
Prof. Shastri was decorated with this highest reward of Degree because of his deep rooted knowledge on Sahitya,Vedas, Jyotish Shastra and other Darshan Shastras by the Minister of State for HRD, Dr. Mahendra Nath Panday, chief guest in presence of Justice Dr. Mukundkant Sharma (Chancellor) and Prof. Ramesh Kumar Panday (Vice Chancellor), Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtryia Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, New Delhi.
Complimenting Prof. Shastri for his endeavour to promote Sanskrit language the Minister for State Dr Mahendra Nath Panday lauded for Shastri Ji’s years of hard work in writing these researched volumes which will be of high value and considerable interest to the scholars working in the arena of Sanskrit literature.
