JAMMU, Jan 16: President Jammu and Kashmir Basketball Association (JKBA), MLC Vikramaditya Singh, has been nominated to the executive body of the Basketball Federation of India.
The decision in this regard was taken in the Annual General Body Meeting of the Federation held at Puducherry on January 14, 2017.
According to sources, the name of the JKBA president was proposed by vice president of the BFI Bhupendra Shahi and seconded by the entire house. His nomination to the national executive has come close on the heels of spirited performances by the J&K teams in national championships in all age groups recently.
Chandermukhi Sharma, Secretary General Basketball Federation of India called Vikramaitya Singh and informed him about the decision.
Singh’s nomination to the national body is likely to give a shot in the arm to the game of Basketball in the State.
