Power situation turns grim: NPP

JAMMU, Aug 6: Ridiculing the claims of the Govt on good governance, NPP leader Harsh Dev Singh lambasted the BJP leadership for subjecting the people to inexpressible miseries in the wake of unprecedented power cuts in the region.
In a press statement today, Mr Singh said that the massive scheduled and unscheduled power cuts had literally made life hell for people with no takers for their woes and sufferings despite repeated protests, appeals and representations. He said while the mandated leaders of Jammu had given up their moral and political obligations, the people of Jammu especially the aged, ailing and children were having the nightmarish experiences of the much proclaimed ‘Achhe Din’ of BJP partnered Govt.
Harsh Dev further said that the unprecedented power crisis during scorching summer had thrown life out of gear in both urban and rural areas. He regretted that despite the pathetic plight of people, the elected representatives had failed to effectively project their concerns. He deplored that rather than assuring a fail deal to Jammu people, the BJP MLAs were agitated in the Assembly for enhancement of their salaries, perks and CDF etc. He appealed to people to join his peaceful dharna outside the office of Chief Engineer M&RE, Bhagwati Nagar on August 8.
