SRINAGAR, Dec 24: The daily rated workers of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department today staged a protest demonstration at Press Enclave here demanding regularization and release of their pending wages.
The protesters were raising slogans against the Government for not fulfilling their long pending demands.
The aggrieved workers said that they have to face immense hardships without salary as it becomes difficult for them to bear the daily expenses. “Due to non-release of salary we are unable to bear the expenses of daily needs of our families,” they said.
They lamented that despite working tirelessly, their wages have been with held. “We have been working tirelessly for the department but unfortunately our wages are pending since last 2 years,” said one of the protesting labourer, Riyaz Ahmad.
The protesting workers demanded that they should be regularized and their pending wages be released at the earliest.
