JAMMU, Dec 10: The Power Employees and Engineers Coordination Committee today urged upon the Governor Satya Pal Malik to resolve the pending issues of the Power employees.
In a joint press conference held here today Sachin Tickoo, convenor PEECC, president DEA Jaipal Sharma, Sanjeev Bali, president PPEU & Ajaz Kazmi general secretary, Sushma Parihar general secretary FOETS and others sought urgent intervention of the Governor on the various issues confronting the employees of the Power Development Department. They strongly raised the issues of Field Travel allowance of Rs 30 per month being paid to the Feeder Managers which by any realms of understanding is a joke with the field staff. This allowance introduced in the 1960s, is still the same and all representations and recommendations of Development Commissioner Power for its increase have been made to eat dust in the files of the Administrative department.

They pointed out that the issue of regularisation of daily wagers of Jammu Province has witnessed severe discrimination and such is situation that in Kashmir Province daily wagers engaged in 2009 have also been regularised by the recent order No:172 of 2018 dated 4/12/2018 and whereas, in Jammu Province daily wagers engaged since 1996 have not been regularised. The Governor should immediately seek a status report of this issue and fix responsibility of the concerned.
It is pertinent to mention that the assets of the department have increased manifold since 1981 and there is a need to reorganise the department and regularise the daily wagers who have been working tirelessly for the upkeep and maintenance of the power supply. They said the Government also failed to issue the SRO for the Assured Career Progression Scheme of Gazetted engineers even though the scheme stands approved at par with the KAS/KPS by the Cabinet on same date, however only SRO in favour of Engineers is pending whereas SRO no 56 dated Feb 19, and SRO 215 dated May 18, 2018 for KAS/KPS was issued immediately. This sparks discontent among all section of engineers.
They referred to the discrimination by the Finance department towards Junior Engineers in PDD who have been waiting since 9 years for mere clarification of their Grade Pay 4260 which was recommended by the Pay Anomaly Committee in 2009. They appealed the Governor to issue instructions to the concerned corners in this regard.
