One killed, two injured as car hits divider

JAMMU, Mar 3: One person was killed while two others were injured when a speeding car on which they were travelling in, hit the divider of the road in Bagh-e-Bahu area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the mishap occurred late last night on Sidhra road near Environment Park, when the driver of the car lost control over the steering and the vehicle rammed into the divider of the road.
The official said in the mishap, a young girl identified as Kamaljeet Kour, daughter of Joginder Singh, resident of Chattha, received serious injuries while two others namely Shubham (35) son of Dinesh Sharma, resident of Gandhi Nagar and Sonia (25) daughter of Mohd younis, resident of Rajouri (at present Gangyal) also got minor injuries.
He said all the three injured were immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Kamaljeet Kour was declared as brought dead by the doctors while other two injured were responding to treatment.
“Today after completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites while a case in this connection was registered at police station Bagh-e-Bahu and investigations started”, he added.
