JAMMU, Mar 3: Former minister and senior Congress leader from Bhaderwah in district Doda, Mohd Sharief Niaz today urged upon the State Government to make new administrative units functional in Bhaderwah constituency of district Doda.
While addressing a press conference here today, the former CLP leader said that previous Congress-NC Government on public demand had sanctioned a number of administrative units including sub divisions, tehsils, blocks, niabats etc but at the same time, some deserving areas were not covered. The legislators and general public put pressure on the Government to include the left out areas.
In view of this pressing demand, the Government constituted Ganai Commission which submitted its report in stipulated time and the Commission recommended a large number of additional administrative units. The sanction was given during the year 2014.
In Bhaderwah Assembly constituency of district Doda, Tehsil Changa -Kilotran, Tehsil Chilli Pain, Tehsil Bhella, Tehsil Chinta Bhalara, CD Block Atkhar, Block Chinta -Bhalra and Block Sinno were also sanctioned. But with the change of Government, these new administrative units were not made operational.
He said Youth Congress leader Nadeem Niaz and some social activists went to the High Court and sought directions with regard to the implementation of Ganai Commission report. For Bhella earlier directions were issued in separate case and that has been implemented but for other cases the court has directed Govt to implement the directive within four months. Niaz hoped that Govt would implement the High Court order in letter and spirit.
The Congress leader also alleged that ruling party legislators and leaders were harassing/ victimizing the Congress party activists. He said even with the revengeful attitude the facilities are being denied to them. They are being discriminated at every field by the local BJP MLA. He demanded that Government must solve the pending issues of Anganwari workers/ helpers, ReT teachers, ASHA Workers, PHE CP and daily rated workers besides contractual lecturers.
