OGW held, militant hospitalized

SRINAGAR, Mar 30: Police today arrested an Over Ground Worker (OGW) of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit in Ganderbal area of Central Kashmir.
Police said that on a specific information they launched cordon and search operation at Lobar Mohalla in Pati Shalbugh area of Ganderbal this morning.
During search, an OGW of HM Nazir Ahmad Malik Son of Abdul Khaliq Malik, resident of Lobar Mohalla was arrested.
SSP Ganderbal Fayaz Ahmad Lone said that Nazir is Over Ground Worker of Hizbul Mujahideen and huge quantity of incriminating material was recovered from his possession.

A case has been registered in police station Ganderbal (FIR No 41/2018 under Section 212 Act) and investigation is going on.
In the meantime, a Hizbul Mujahideen militants who was injured in shootout at Ahagam area of Shopian last night, is being treated at SKIMS Soura here.
A police spokesperson, in a statement, said, “As reported by the Army in Shopian, a Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) of 44RR was fired upon by the militants traveling in a Swift car, which was signalled to stop late last night.”
“The militants fired upon the naka party, which was retaliated by the men on duty with extreme caution. Militants lost control of the vehicle and the car got stuck. Consequently, the militants abandoned the car and managed to flee. The police have reached the spot and seized the vehicle.”
“In the incident, a Hizbul Mujahideen militant sustained bullet wounds,” the spokesperson said. “Police authorities have learnt that one Asif Ashraf Malik son of Ashraf Malik of Krawoora, Shopian active since 19-10-2017 with outfit HM has been admitted with a bullet injury at SKIMS Soura where he has been given required medical treatment. Preliminary investigation suggested that he was injured in the incident of yesterday at Ahgam where militants from a Swift car opened fire on an Army patrol. The medical bulletin of the injured is yet to be received. Police is investigating the matter.”
“One more person namely Shahid Bhat has been brought to hospital with bullet injury last night. The circumstances in which he received the injury are being ascertained. The injured is stated to be stable,” the spokesperson added.
