JAMMU,  Mar 9: Accusing the BJP-PDP Government of  failure in conducting fair and transparent investigation in the child homicide cases of Hiranagar and Bari Brahamna and resorting to unprovoked lathi-charge over peaceful protesters in Kathua and Hiranagar, a large number of Panthers Party activists led by party chairman  Harsh Dev Singh held massive protest demonstration a Exhibition Ground here today.
While setting ablaze the effigy of the State Government, the agitated protesters demanded resignation of BJP Ministers for failing to fulfill their commitment.

Anguished over the suppressive approach of the State Government to quell the voice of the people, Harsh Dev condemned the brutal lathi-charge by the police on the peaceful protesters at Chadwal in Hiranagar a day ago, who were demanding CBI probe into the killing of minor girl Asifa Bano. He said that BJP-PDP alliance failing on governance front was purportedly fomenting trouble and flaring up tensions with a motive to polarize the electorate for petty political interests.
Expressing solidarity with the family of the deceased child, he said that the mass detentions of the minors besides harassment of innocent people by the police under the pretext of crime investigation had led to mass migration of residents of village Rassana in Hiranagar. Overall situation in the entire Kathua district had turned from bad to worse. The violent clash between the protesters and the police yesterday at Chadwal in which a person was critically hit by a bus and several were injured had further added fuel to the fire, Harsh said.
He also flayed the police administration for unlawful detention of  Balwant Singh Mankotia,  State president NPP and hundreds of party activists at Hiranagar Police Station who were protesting in pursuit of justice for the slain minor girl and the persecuted residents of village Rassana.
Admonishing the BJP partnered dispensation for pushing Jammu Pradesh on the verge of another mass agitation, Harsh Dev said that raging fire of Kathua had not subsided when another barbaric murder of a nine year old Sonu Bhagat of village Meen Sarkar in Bari-Brahmana couple of days ago had sent shock waves in the entire Samba district. He said that the local people and the children were living in the atmosphere of fear psychosis as the criminals were still moving scot free.
