NHM employees ask Govt to expedite regularization process or face agitation

JAMMU, Dec 1: National Health Mission employees asked the Government to expedite the regularization process or face agitation.
Addressing a joint press conference, Rohit Seth, President Jammu Division, AJKNHMEA and Shaheen Nawaz, President, AJKNHMEA Kashmir Division said that nine months back after the NHM employees went for 15 days strike, the Government has constituted a four members committee under chairmanship of Commissioner Secretary H&ME which includes Additional Secretary H&ME, Director Health Services Jammu/Kashmir and Mission Director, NHM J&K who were supposed to submit the report within 2 months.
“After a period of nine months it came to our notice that the committee has submitted the report for further perusal”, they said and appealed to the Government to expedite the regularisation process of NHM employees on priority basis.
They informed that the employees working under NHM are doctors and professional degree holders who have served the Health Department from last 10 years and due to their efforts, Government has been awarded as Number 1 State in Primary Health Services across country from last three consecutive years.
“Now its responsibility of Government to regularise the NHM employees as their demands are genuine in nature which has been acknowledge by all the authorities of Government”, they stated.
“If the Government failed to expedite the regularization process, we will start a mass agitation with the support of RNTCP, NACO, IDSP, NCD and COB employees from December 20 and for any untoward incident, the Government will be responsible”, they warned.
Among others present were Chief Spokesperson Abdul Rauoof and Vice President Dr Arun.
