Natraj Natya Kunj presents Dogri play ‘X-Reflection’

JAMMU, Mar 30: Natraj Natya Kunj Jammu today presented Dogri Play ‘X- Reflection’ at studio Ranglok Jammu. Directed by Abhishek Bharti and adapted in Dogri by Kumar A Bharti, this Play was supported by Sangeet Natak Akademi New Delhi.
Originally written by Chandrashekhra Kambar as ‘Siri Sampige’, the play is about a Prince with a prophecy that he will only die if his brother dies.
The Prince falls in love with the impossibly perfect lamp-maiden who comes to life one night in his bed chamber and disappears dancing into his own body. In his search for the lady, he now demands that his body be split into two and equal parts and put in 2 clay-pots which are supposed to stay unopened for a certain time. When they finally open the pots a King Cobra appears out of one of the pots and disappears in the garden. From the other pot the prince appears as himself again.
But without a success in finding his perfect mate, he has to marry Shampa on his mother’s wish. Because of his disappointment he refuses to be with her and continues his search instead. Meanwhile the King Cobra sees Shampa’s pain caused by the rejection of her husband and therefore takes the form of the Prince and is with Shampa. She becomes pregnant. Suspecting his wife’s infidelity, the Prince orders a trial in which Shampa proves her chastity. Shampa reveals that it was the King Cobra who had taken the shape of the prince. The Prince kills the snake and dies himself.
The cast included Akshay Razdan, Surbhi Balgotra, Kannav Sharma, Niharika Sakshi, Lalit Sharma, Vishal Pandita, Neha Bhatt, Karan Mehra, Manik Sharma, Amandeep Sharma, Mukesh Bakshi, Tejan Bharti, Shubangi Dhamir.
Back stage team included Music; Surinder Singh Manhas, Make up; Manoj Dhamir Shammi, Choreography; Romit Sawhney, Costumes; Kamal Mohini, Sets and Properties; Dr Rajinder Thapa and Lights; Aaditya Bharti.
The chief guest H K Bhagat, lauded the efforts of all the actors.
