SRINAGAR, May 28: A minor girl was allegedly raped in central Kashmir’s Budgam district today.
A Police spokesman said that Police Station Khan Sahab received a complaint from one Abdul Ahad Bhat, a resident of Yarikhan, Khan Sahab stating that his minor daughter (name withheld) has been raped by one Mohammad Maqbool Rather, 22, a resident of village Yarikhah Khan Sahab.
He said Police has taken the cognizance of the case and accordingly medical examination of the minor girl was conducted which confirmed the rape of the victim. “The accused has been identified and is still at large. The hunt has been launched to arrest the accused. In this regard, a case under relevant provisions of the law has been registered and investigation is going on,” he said.
