Man commits suicide by jumping into Tawi

JAMMU, Aug 21: A man committed suicide today by jumping into River Tawi in this winter capital of the State.
“At about 7 PM today, an unknown man of age about 35 years jumped into River Tawi from the main bridge near Mandir- Masjid point”, a police official said.
He said that the eyewitnesses informed the police, which reached the spot , fished out the man from the river and in unconscious condition shifted him to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
“The Nowabad police has taken cognizance of the matter”, the official said, adding later the deceased was identified as Subhash Chander (34) son of Charan Das, resident of Mishriwala near Kasturba Gandhi Trust.
