UDHAMPUR, Aug 21: Continuing its offensive against narcotic smugglers, Udhampur Police today seized six kgs of Poppy Straw from a narcotic smuggler near Shiv Nagar, Udhampur.
Based on reliable information, a Police party from PS Udhampur laid a naka on the National Highway, near Devika, Shiv Nagar and intercepted one Alto car bearing registration number JK02AD-0495.
During checking, six kg Poppy Straw was recovered from the car. Police seized the poppy straw as well as the car and also arrested the accused driver, who was identified as Jamat Ali, son of Hussain Mohd of Panthal Katra, Reasi.
A case FIR number 426/18 u/s 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
