The elections for local self Governments is nearing. The grassroot democratic institutions will come into existence. This exercise could not be shaped in the previous coalition Government due to some reasons. It is a welcome step when the present dispensation showed deep concern in holding of elections for the Local Bodies in the State. This is an opportunity for the people of the State to choose their members for the Municipalities and Panchayats. This will empower the local people to settle the grievances at the grassroot level. The Central Government has gone a step ahead by funding these grassroot level institutions directly and people in general have appreciated this gesture of the Central Government. All is well and the electoral forms are being updated. But it is pertinent to mention here that KPs have been deleted from the electoral rolls. This is injustice with the KPs.
