Kavinder launches ‘Gems of Jammu’ calendar by French Club

JAMMU, Apr 13: French Club Jammu today launched a calendar named “Gems of Jammu” with eminent personalities from different walks of life.
Kavinder Gupta, Speaker Legislative Assembly, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Chairman Team Jammu, Yudhvir Sethi, State vice president of BJP and Baldev Singh Billawaria, District president of BJP, jointly released the calendar.
This calendar was dedicated to Sugandhi Goel, MD Trived Event Management.
The twelve personalities of Jammu who have been featured in the calendar, are Krishna Kumari (Folk Singer), Brij Mohan (Poet/Music Composer), Zorawar Singh Jamwal (Chairman Team Jammu), Kusum Tickoo (Actor/Producer/Anchor), Gaurav Gupta (First Barefoot runner of the state, Marathon Man of Jammu), Sonali Dogra (International Singer), Ashima Sharma (Anchor/Model/Fashion Choreogopher), Mitali Dogra (Gymnastic International Player), Rahul Makin (Radio Jockey), Siddharth Slathia (Top Youtube Singer), Raj Malhotra (Fitness Model) and Naresh Sharma (Founder The Strings).
Kavinder Gupta, while speaking on the occasion, said that the initiative of the French Club to launch the calendar for highlighting achievements of the people of Jammu in different fields are appreciable and such initiatives by other organizations should also be taken so that the youth get motivated.
Zorawar Singh Jamwal said Gems of Jammu calendar not only tells about achievements of the people from Jammu but also brings out the talent of Jammu in front of everyone. “With minimal resources and infrastructure, youth from Jammu are growing in their field. This should be an inspiration for others and State Government must initiate such activities to encourage talent of the State,” he added.
Yudhvir Sethi said French language and its propagation in the State will help in translating Dogri literature into French and vice versa, thus paving a way for global exposure.
Arun Sharma, president of the French Club of Jammu said, “since the formation of the club seven years ago, it has grown with many leaps and bounds and has become a prominent name not only in Jammu but also in Kashmir and Ladakh region from where people are associated with the club.
French Club members, who were present on the occasion, were Preeti, Sonali, Tapas, Arjun, Ravinderpal Singh and Ujwal. Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Lokesh. The event was sponsored by Ajay from Rudra Youth Trust.
