Anukul to represent India in Softball; Randhawa honours athlete

JAMMU, Apr 13: Senior BJP leader and Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Vikram Randhawa today felicitated Anukul Bhagat, ace Softball player from the state, on his selection for the 10th Asian Senior Men’s Softball Championship scheduled to be held at Jakarta in Indonesia.
The Championship will be held from April 23 to April 28, 2018 in which players from several countries of world will be participating.
Anukul has the distinction of playing in several National Championships, federation Cup and Inter-Zone and Inter-University tournaments.
Speaking on the occasion, Randhawa appreciated the achievements of the young sportsperson of the State and wished him good luck for his upcoming international level contest in Indonesia
He appealed the Government for making efforts to encourage budding talent in the State.
Randhawa said Anukul has set an example through his hard work and dedicated that if the youngsters are provided ample opportunities, they can excel at any level.
“The State Government has launched a widespread campaign to improve infrastructural facilities for sports at district and tehsil level. More than raising infrastructure, the need is to encourage youngsters towards sports,” Randhawa said.
On the occasion, senior BJP leader and Prabhari SC Morcha, Surinder Bhagat and senior leader Suresh Jamwal were present.
