JAMMU, Apr 13: Shastri Cricket Club defeated Police Cricket Club by 20 runs in the ongoing 1st Patel Memorial T20 Invitational Cup, which is being played at Parade Cricket Ground, here.
The event is being organized under the supervision of Jung Bahadur Singh Jamwal, President Patel Cricket Club and Vijay Sharma, Secretary of the Club.
Earlier, batting first, Shastri Cricket Club scored 182 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Arvind was the top scorer with 78 runs, while Vishal and Kannav contributed 42 and 25 runs to the total respectively.
From bowling side, Ramandeep Singh took 2 wickets while Majid and Rompy 1 wicket each.
In reply, Police Cricket Club managed to score 161 runs for the loss of 8 wickets, thus lost the match by 20 runs. Ishtiaq (39), Rompy (38) and Pankaj Lada (31) were the main scorers. From bowling side, Arvind and Anchal took 2 wickets each, while Vicky claimed 1 wicket. Arvind was adjudged as the man of the match for his brilliant all-round show.
The match was officiated by Saleem-ur- Rehman and Rahul Kumar.
In tomorrow fixture, Gorkha Cricket Club will take on National Cricket Club at 9 am.
