JAMMU, Oct 31: Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta today kick started the water supply work in Malik Market in Gandhi Nagar Constituency. The improvement of water supply work from Tube Well Malik Market to Gurdwara Lane Malik Market has to be completed at a cost of Rs. 42.34 lakh.
Complementing the people after start of work on the schemes, Gupta said that it was the long pending demand of the locals which has been fulfilled. He said that over 2000 souls of Malik Market, Gurdwara Lane, SC Basti and adjoining areas will be benefitted with the scheme. The space for the installation of manifold at Bathiindi Morh has been provided by Punjab Singh and Gupta complimented him for the noble cause.
Addressing the well attended public gatherings at Malik Market in Gandhi Nagar constituency, Gupta reiterated the commitment of Government for provision of basic amenities to the public of the State. He said that the Government is aware about the problems being confronted to people of these areas, saying that various initiatives have been taken to address their problems on priority.
Gupta said that ongoing schemes of the area would be completed on priority and to be dedicated to people for their convenience. The other schemes of public importance would also be taken up with the consultation of local representative, he maintained.
He instructed the concerned officials for taking up repair work on defunct Water Supply Schemes and change of worn-out pipe lines in his Constituency so that regular water supply is ensured in the area.
Seeking peoples’ cooperation in conservation of water resources, Gupta also called for judicious use of water. He said that the department has launched a campaign to sensitize people about the importance of judicious use of water in life. He asked the PHE employees to discharge their service with dedication.
Among others, Baldev Bilowria, J.P. Singh, Executive Engineer, PHE, Executive Engineer Mechanical Ajay Sharma, Vinay Gupta, A.E.E Vijay Sharma, Ankush Gupta, J.E Tariq, Amit, Harbhan Singh, besides large number of locals were present on the occasion.
