Kathua Police seizes 115 kgs of polythene bags

KATHUA, July 22: Continuing its drive against smuggling of contraband polythene bags in the State, a police party of Police Post Nagri  laid down a naka at Goond and arrested two persons namely Lovely Gupta S/o Joginder Paul and Navjot Singh S/o Vikram Singh both resident of Janyal district Pathankot, Punjab and recovered 115 Kgs contraband Polythene bags from their possession.
They were on their way from Punjab towards J&K on a bike bearing regd. No. PB 35Y-6932, and were carrying consignment of the Polythene bags.  The bike was also seized on spot and a case FIR No. 215/2017 U/S 188, 120 B RPC 6/7/10 of 2007 of J&K Non Bio Degradable Material Management Handling and Disposal (Act 2007) was registered against them at Police Station Kathua and investigation started to bust the racket of smuggling of polythene bags.
The drive was carried out by a police team led by ASI Ashwani Kumar, of P P Nagri under the close supervision of S.S. Sambyal, DySP Hqrs. Kathua and overall supervision of Mohd. Suleman Choudhary- SSP Kathua.
