JAMMU, Feb 12: Sunil Dimple president Jammu West Assembly Movement along with his supporters held a protest rally, to attract the attention of the Governor NN Vohra, against the failure of the ERA, JMC, PWD R&B and traffic departments, to solve the rising traffic problem, in the Jammu city and for not constructing fly overs at Rehari Chungi, Jewal Chowk, today.
The protesters were demanding reduction of the buses and mini buses fares. The people also raised slogans against the ERA, demanding CBI inquiry of the ERA sewerage project.
Addressing the demonstration Sunil Dimple demanded the Governor N N Vohra to pass directives to the concerned agencies to construct the flyovers and make Jammu a smart city.
Sunil Dimple demanded Governor N N Vohra to hold the CBI inquiry of the funds of the ERA sewerage project which was started in 2007 and was to be completed in two years.
Dimple also demanded for starting Metro Rail, Mono Rail and construction of circular roads to solve the traffic problem faced by the people of Jammu City.
He also demanded for the construction of the damaged forth bridge, widening of the Jammu Jewal Chowk to Akhnoor Road and make flyovers on the Jammu-Akhnoor road.
Dimple flayed the RTO Jammu for stopping issuance of the driving licenses and the trials for the licenses and the public is facing of lot of problems and suffering unnecessary challans of licenses.
He warned the transport authorities to immediately roll down the passenger fares and start making driving licenses, otherwise JWAM will start the statewide agitation.
