The issue was placed in the 73rd University Council meeting held on October 18, 2012 but on the intervention of Dr Avinash Gupta as member of the University Council, who pointed out discrepancies and shortcomings in the rates, the Chancellor directed the VC to constitute a Revisit Committee in consultation with the Kashmir University and workout rationalized enhanced rates for both the universities before its final approval.
The committee deliberated the issue and after recommendation by the Coordination Committee of Jammu and Kashmir Universities, the matter was endorsed to the University Council by 103rd University Syndicate held on March 3, 2014 thereby fulfilling the long pending demand of the College teaching fraternity.
