JKTF holds protest demonstration

JAMMU, May 27: Jammu and Kashmir Teachers’ Forum today held a protest demonstration in the premises of Directorate of School Education, Jammu, against the apathetic and insincere attitude of the Government in mitigating their demands, which are lying pending for the last so many years.
The protest, which was held under the leadership of State general secretary, Ganesh Khajuria, was attended by hundreds of teachers and Masters and EVs. They raised slogans against the Director School Education and the Education Minister.
The main demands highlighted by the Forum includes adjustment of Masters working outside in their parent districts, adjustment of newly promoted Masters, Headmasters and Lecturers, immediate release of salary grants in favour of Masters and Teachers working under SSA scheme, increase of honorarium for ReTs from Rs 3000 per month to Rs 10000 per month, regularization of EVs who have completed their seven years of service and increase in their honorarium, etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Khajuria said that their demands are lying pending for last so many years but no action was taken by the authorities at the helm of affairs, which forced the leadership to take the shelter of protest to get their demands resolved.
Rajinder Gupta, Kuldeep Singh, Gopal Singh, Raj Singh, Gopal Sharma, Darshan Sharma Charan Dass , Gurjeet singh, Rajeshwar Singh and many others spoke on the occasion.
