SAMBA,  Jan 10:  Continuing their struggle, Jats today held a protest demonstration here under the presidentship of Kamal Singh.
Addressing the protesters, Kamal Singh  lashed at the leadership of Coalition Government for not granting the OBC status to Jats which it is their fundamental right as they are socially and educationally backward and the  constitution fully protects the rights of weaker section of the society.
The protest was held under the banner of Jat Kalyan Sabha.
Singh said that the Jats in all other states of India have been granted OBC status including Central services as well but to the utter surprise, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir is sleeping over the file for last one decade even when the community has always voted for NC and Congress  right from 1947. The leadership of these parties should rise from deep slumber and grant the OBC status without further loss of time or they will have repent in coming times for their negligence towards the community, he added.
Ch Kamal Singh dwelt in details on the role of other political parties who are sitting in opposition as well. He asked them to clear their stand on this genuine and just demand of Jats. He threatened the administrative machinery would be brought to stand still as community is likely to come on the roads if the demands is not met immediately.
Other who accompanied included prominent persons from Kathua, Samba, Bishnah, Suchitgarh and other adjoining places.
